About

MI Legged Robots is based on the work of Professor Shai Revzen, an associate professor at the University of Michigan’s College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science. He’s noted for his work on bio-inspired robotics and new methods and mechanisms for robotic control, as well as his scientific study of animal and human locomotion based on nonlinear dynamical systems, and application of his findings to the design of legged robotic vehicles and other devices. He leads the team at the University of Michigan’s Biologically Inspired Robotics and Dynamical Systems (BIRDS) Lab. BIRDS explores the many strategies animals use when interacting with physical objects.

The content of this site and projects were created by David Erik Nelson. He is the author of Junkyard Jam Band and Snip Burn Solder Shred, and is known for his unconventional hands-on and exploratory projects and installations for children, teens, and adults.
